About Conference
Honouring Prof. M K Jayaraj for his selfless service and achievements in the field of materials research, Students and Alumni of Nanophotonics and Optoelectronic Devices Laboratory (NPOED), in association with Department of Physics, Centre of Excellence in Advanced Materials, SPIE-CUSAT Student Chapter and ECS CUSAT Student Chapter, organizing a two day International conference on Material Science: A Kaleidoscopic Journey (ic-MKJ) during 17 & 18 March 2022. The conference will be conducted in blended mode with physical hosting of the meeting at Department of Physics, CUSAT. The conference is designed to provide a kaleidoscopic view of the recent advancements in materials science. Experts in the frontiers of materials science will interact in the event. We cordially invite all the researchers, post graduate students and faculty members to this event. Registration is free and mandatory for the participants.
About Prof. M. K. Jayaraj
Prof. M K Jayaraj had joined as a lecturer in 1992 at Department of Physics CUSAT and completed 29 years of service in 2021. He is one of the pioneers in the field of Optoelectronics and Nanophotonics research in India. He has made immense contribution to the fields of transparent oxide semiconductors, ferroelectric materials, two-dimensional materials, thin film transistors, chemical/biosensors, photovoltaic devices, resistive switching devices, SERS, quantum confined structures etc. He is the founder director of Centre of Excellence in Advanced Materials, an interdisciplinary Centre for research established in 2010 at Cochin University of Science and Technology. He has supervised 29 Doctoral theses and 31 M.Phil. dissertations. In recognition of his service to materials research, he received many accolades; UGC Mid-Career award in 2017, Dr. S. Vasudev award in 2018 and MRSI medal in 2019.
