Scope of Workshop
Nanophotonics is the study of the behaviour of light on the nanometer scale, and of the interaction of nanometer-scale objects with light and hence is a interdisciplinary branch of science of optics, optical engineering, and nanotechnology. The National Workshop on Nanophotonics ( NWN‐2016) is platform bringing together the experts and young researchers together to discuss the present scenario and the future prospects in the area of nanophotonics. The workshop will be focusing on the fabrication and application of nanostructures that facilitate the generation, propagation, manipulation, and detection of light from the infrared to the ultraviolet regimes. The workshop also mark the closing ceremony of the year long celebrations of Interanational year of Light (IYL 2015) and the tenth anniversary of SPIE CUSAT student chapter. To mark these events, a poster presentation competition for postgraduate students are also being organised. The workshop will be an ideal platform to share and exchange ideas on the latest development in the areas of nano materials and processing for futuristic optoelectronic applications.
